The campground is under renovation and is a work in progress, but it is quiet and has some beautiful views. All new 30/50 amp electrical and water hookups. The bathhouse was clean and neat. The folks running the camp were very helpful friendly and accommodating, and made some recommendations for hiking up to the old sulphur springs which we did and greatly enjoyed. We would stay there again.

In the lower, the transient, area there is little hope of finding anything approaching a level pad. In order to use the dump station, one must block the only ingress/egress to the campground, and even that's not close enough to level to empty waste tanks if the drain valves on on the left side of your unit.

Under new management so some construction is going on. Folks there are very friendly and considerate. Gary and Timmy are the team and bent over backwards to accommodate. Great location for fishing, hunting and river floaters. There will be more weekend site available in the near future. I would return there in the future.

We stayed at Cold Sulphur Springs for over 3 months this summer. We had consistent and adequate power and water at our campsite and a working dump station when we needed it. The area is quiet, beautiful and remote. The driveway into the campground was kept in good repair making access easy. There is a small town nearby and cities within 30 miles or so. There are hiking trails both in the campground and surrounding National Forest. The weather was cooler than other areas of Virginia. The people who live and work there were kind and very helpful.

I haven’t been there in 16 or so years since my family had sold the property that we used to have our family reunion but this past weekend a lot of things have changed and for the good. One of the best camping experiences I’ve had in many years. I will definitely be going again soon. Some people may complain about the prices compared to other camping locations but you get what you pay for. We were right at the lake location campsite number 4. My personal favorite spot
