My husband and I spent a week in one of the river sites. The couple that signed us in and helped us set up were very nice and friendly. The last day of our trip, my husband and I decided to drive our truck to the other side of the park to hike up a trail with a sign designating that campers of the park could walk the trail to see a waterfalls. We parked at the end of the gravel road intending to walk up the trail. A woman came out and started telling us we couldnt drive up there. We were trying to explain that we were going to hike it, not drive up, when a man, that I suppose is the owner of the park, sped up to us in a jeep that was spewing rocks and pebbles from under his wheels and telling us in a harsh and mean manner that we couldn't park there. I told him we were staying in the park and was just parking close to the trail to walk up. He said No! You are not! Get in your truck and and go back over there! My husband said OK. I'm not hard to get along with. The man replied, Well, I am. No truer words have ever been spoken. We had spent a great week enjoying the location including the camp site, and were even talking about booking for next year. But this owner manged to dampen our visit with his cocky, "bad man" attitude. If you decide to stay in this campground, I hope you never run in to the owner! I doubt we will give him any more of our money! The reason I gave 3 stars is because the site on the river was very nice, and the managers were extremely helpful. If I was rating the owner, he would get a negative number! I know I am going to suggest to my rv camping friends to go elsewhere.

Campground Response

You are absolutely right. I get very upset when rule breaking involves possible injury. Attempting to drive a dully pickup truck up a hiking trail is dangerous. We didn't want you to get hurt.
