We are sorry Ronald you weren't impressed with the improvements. All of the electrical was replaced and upgraded. The bathrooms were updated and painted. Site leveling throughout has begun and will be continuing after this season concludes. All of the very dead ash trees were taken out along with some of the other dead and dying hardwood canopy and investments made into new hardwood forestation has begun. Signage has been updated. The city, owner of the campground unfortunately has not raised prices in a LONG time. Some site costs did go up more than others. Stay tuned, there's more renovations in the pipeline.

As you may be aware, Camp Hattie has been undergoing a facelift and when this season is done there's more to do. We will make sure those timbers are tucked back in or replaced and will continue the leveling project. We will look forward to welcoming you back next year!

Thank you Craig for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry you will not return. The grass at the campground is mowed on a weekly basis. We did have some rain on Saturday which may have made leaves come down; as dry as September has been, it is to be expected. Wet leaves on a wet sidewalk do create slippery conditions but as everything dries, that resolves. The rain also pushed up the bugs which have been hiding during the prolonged dryness. We are sorry they were a concern for you. Being so close to water that happens. The campground is laid out so everyone can have optimal views, it is a stunning location on very rugged terrain so some sites may seem close together. We apologize your camping experience was not what you expected.

Hi Amy, we apologize for your negative experience, and wish you would have reached out to us personally during your experience, for if we had known you had continued to struggle we would have been more than happy to help you out. I am personally the one who took your phone call and I am sad that you chose to take “good luck” which most certainly came at the end of a 5 minute phone call, out of context. I regret that you were not able to get your 33 ft 5th wheel into the pull through site,17. I have seen many 40+ ft rigs fit in there, and if I had been on site the exact moment you had called, I would have been more than happy to assist you in any way I could. After giving you a few tips, I never heard back from you, and I regret that you did not call back to notify me of your continued struggles. Again, we apologize for this experience, and can certainly offer you a refund.

Yes, losing all the dead ash trees was terrible but it has given us an opportunity to be the good stewards of this beautiful property we are supposed to be and make sure the hardwoods keep growing and those hardwoods allow for others to grow as well. Thank you Chuck for noticing the "clean up" efforts that have begun at Camp Hattie. Thus far over 54 dead trees (yes we are very sad) were taken out as they created very dangerous hazards. You probably also noticed there's 11 new hardwood trees that have been planted along with some very quick growing tall native shrubs to replace that "seclusion" you speak of. More efforts are underway after the season ends and hopefully the new will start to fill in so when you return you can have your private waterfront hideaway!!!

It is awfully disappointing you were not able to make contact with anyone. The phone number is posted in numerous places throughout the grounds and Camp Hattie's manager Quin is always available to assist at any time and happy to do so. It is unfortunate you had challenges in getting your 15' camper on the site chosen; it is a great site, very long, deep and wide. It is possible you could have been moved to a site more to your liking had contact been made with management. We are sorry this happened and sorry to hear you won't return.
