I reserved two weeks over the phone and was told they only take cash. Two days before our arrival, I called to inquire if an end site was available and was told no. Since there is no online map of the RV park, I asked about any other site where we wouldn't be in the middle so that my kids, who are well behaved, could play catch and ride bikes without bothering anyone. The lady, Shiree, seemed shocked that I had two kids and noted that the RV park is more suitable for older retirees. She then said, "I kind of need to know if you're going to be coming or not so that I don't hold your site when I could rent it out." That surprised me because I had reservations and never indicated that we wouldn't honor our end. I told her we'd be there and we'd make do with wherever we were placed. After hanging up, she texted me and suggested we stay at Jellystone in Montrose (2 hours away) because it "might be a better fit for kids", I didn't respond. She texted me again about having "guys in the park that leave out at 5:30am" and that we "may not like it", I didn't respond. At this point, I felt completely unwelcome and a little panicked, so I stayed up until midnight trying to find another campground. I managed to reserve the last site at Ute Mountain Casino RV Park just outside of Cortez, so I cancelled with La Mesa RV Park and texted Shiree that "we don't want to stay where we're not welcome." She responded that I was the "one complaining about people leaving early", which is untrue. I never complained about anything, just inquired about a possible end site since we were going to be there for 2 weeks with kids and she tried to send us 2 hours up the road. I was so furious with her judgemental attitude that I would rather boondock for 2 weeks than stay at this RV park. She made us feel so unwelcome that I was scrambling to find alternate reservations with only 24 hours notice. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
