This has many seniors that live at the Low-Hi RV Ranch in Deming, New Mexico full-time. There are also “questionable” occupants with RV's that have broken taped windows and amounts of debris left outside. The park has some dogs contained outside RV's in pens that are not secure and/or tied up on leads. My small dog and I were attacked on Christmas Day by a large mixed breed dog that appeared to have pit-bull and/or rottweiler. People in the park had said it wasn't the first time the dog had escaped. The dog was barking and snarling as I was walking by and apparently broke down the flimsy wire pen to attack. I was able to scoop up my dog and kept turning away while the dog was attacking. After taking my dog to the vet, he said I was VERY LUCKY and it was good I was able to pick up my dog to protect her. (See vet photos...) The people that work in the office DID NOT CALL the manager (who lives offsite) saying that “they didn't want to bother him on Christmas Day.” The sheriff did come to investigate, but it took three days for Animal Control to finally arrive and check that the dog had a rabies vaccination. I suspect that the Low-Hi Ranch wants to “keep this quiet,” but people (and especially small dog owners) need to know to protect themselves and their pets.

We stayed here not long ago while doing some area rockhounding. The sites are spacious with all the amenities. The Bunkhouse is a pleasant place to relax and chat with other campers. They have a great book exchange if you're needing some fresh reading material. The staff is super friendly, and the price more than reasonable. About the only detraction was the lack of WiFi capability. It's there, but bandwidth is too low to gain access. As I'm an editor and author, this was a bit of a minus for me, as I work when I'm on the road and really need WiFi. But would we stay again? Certainly!
