WARNING to anyone who has stayed at, is staying at or plans to stay at Reeder Beach RV Resort and Country Store. The longer we were there the more we noticed a decline in our health. We looked up info about the water because it always had a funny smell, came out opaque and tasted terrible, only to discover arsenic levels so high that Steve Wabashall at Oregon Drinking Water Services has, since 2019, issued a “Do Not Drink the Water” alert. He told us the the owners were required to inform guests with flyers, tell everyone upon check in and supply bottled drinking water. We took pictures to show no notices were posted and we were never told not to drink the water. Arsenic was first detected in 1991 but not retested until 10/2/2019. Each subsequent test has been positive and nothing has ever been done about it. Please check this for yourself at your water.Oregon.gov and click on water systems search and enter 91951 for Reeder Beach. We drank and cooked and gave this water to our animals. When the office found out we had discovered the problem and spoken to Steve W. we were asked to vacate in 24 hours even though we had been there for 6+ months. Apparently they were suddenly completely sold out. We don’t understand why they aren’t required to correct this issue and our main concern is, we were not given a choice or informed about the health risks.
